      Special Olympics Young Professionals Host

      7th Annual Pub Crawl

      Chicago, IL. The Young Professionals Development Board of Special Olympics Chicago is hosting the 7th Annual Pub Crawl on Saturday, March 3. Guests can join the festivities at any of ten pubs located on Southport Avenue. The first stop of the day will be at 2:00 at Southport Lanes, 3325 N. Southport Avenue. Guests will continue stopping at locations including Justin's, Schoolyard, SoPo, Mystic Celt, Messners, D'Agostinos (free pizza and raffle), Wheel House, Toon's, Blue Bayou, and Cullen's. Admission is $15 and will provide a variety of food and drink specials at the ten pub stops. Raffle tickets will also be sold for prizes which include gift cards for restaurants and entertainment.

      About the Young Professionals Development Board

      The Young Professionals (YP) Development Board was formed to raise funds to support the Chicago program of Special Olympics Illinois. The Board meets approximately once a month and plans fundraising activities throughout the year. Members of the YP Board also volunteer at Special Olympics sport competitions scheduled in Chicago.

      Special Olympics Chicago is one of 18 Areas of Special Olympics Illinois, a not-for-profit organization offering year-round training and competitions in 19 sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. There are nearly 5,000 athletes participating in the city of Chicago, many through the Chicago Park District and Chicago Public Schools programs. Special Olympics programs enhance physical fitness, motor skills, self-confidence, and social skills and encourage family support. Special Olympics began in Chicago in 1968 with the first Games at Soldier Field and today serves nearly 2.5 million athletes in 180 countries.
