      EVENT DETAILS
Fellow Mark Sanford “The Importance of a Road Less Taken in the World of Politics” (Guest: Tom Campbell)

We’ll recap my years in the House and the Governorship and key take-aways. This seminar will also explore the different approaches to politics and why this fellow believes the tools of term limits and a finite perspective are important building blocks toward more independence (or more independent politicians?) – an important and lacking quality among today’s political actors. Special Guest: Tom Campbell, former member of the U.S. House of Representatives (R-CA) and current law professor at Chapman University This seminar is part of IOP Pritzker Fellow Mark Sanford's series, “25 Years in Politics & 8 Practical Lessons Learned the Hard Way."  This seminar is open to students only and off the record. Registration is required. However, seating is limited on a first come, first serve basis; capacity in the IOP Living Room is 45. Doors will open 30 minutes before the event begins. Any unclaimed seats will be released 10 minutes before the event begins. Please arrive early to claim your seat. If you can no longer attend, please cancel your ticket order on Eventbrite so others may register. This venue is physically accessible and has gender-neutral restrooms. Please contact the Institute of Politics at politics@uchicago.edu or 773-834-4671 with any questions or accommodation requests. To add this event to your calendar. Click "Add to my calendar" and choose among the options (Outlook, Google, iCal, Yahoo).
