      The Future of Immigration Reform

Since President Trump ordered the end of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program in September, questions of immigration reform have occupied the center of attention for many Americans. What should be done about the nearly 11 million undocumented immigrants in the United States – 3.6 million of whom arrived as children? More broadly, what kind of immigration system meets America’s needs in the twenty-first century? And which proposals for immigration reform could be politically viable? Join the IOP as we welcome a panel of experts to discuss the current status and the future of immigration reform. Featuring:  Alfonso Aguilar, President of the Latino Partnership for Conservative Principles, former Chief of the U.S. Office of Citizenship Theresa Cardinal Brown, Director of Immigration and Cross-border Policy at the Bipartisan Policy Center Lorella Praeli, Director of Immigration Policy and Campaigns at the American Civil Liberties Union This event will be moderated by Tal Kopan, political reporter for CNN, where she covers immigration, cybersecurity, and other issues.
