      This introductory workshop will show you how to get pleasing and consistent results from your digital workflow. Learn the essentials of capturing, controlling and printing predictable color whether you print at home or use a custom photo lab.

      This program will follow a very logical capture-to-output agenda to discuss and demonstrate each important control point through the process. Accurate yet understandable color management vocabulary will prevail.

      Topics to be discussed:
      • Using Color Management to save time, reduce waste and save money.
      • Camera Settings for White Balance, Color space and File format
      • Sorting out all the equipment choices for white balance and monitor calibration
      • Monitor Calibration & Profiles and knowing what to calibrate to
      • Choosing a Working Color Space in Photoshop
      • Soft Proofing with Printer output profiles. Using ICC Profiles to create a “work-for-you” system.
      • Working with a custom photo lab, with confidence.

      Digital photographers desiring a basic overview of controlling color at the camera, computer and printer. Class is limited to 15 participants.

      About the Instructor
      Tim Donnell is a 34 year veteran of the Photographic industry. He earned his degree in Professional Photography from Rochester Institute of Technology and has now retired from a 26 year career with the Eastman Kodak Company. He is experienced in traditional materials & processes and well versed in digital workflow on multiple levels. Tim’s passion is to present the complexities of digital photography with plain language in an understandable manner.
