      Changing Worlds Annual Benefit

      On Wednesday, May 15th, Changing Worlds will host our Annual Benefit at the Chicago History Museum. Join us and experience the compelling work of our students and teaching artists. With a mission to foster inclusive communities and enhance cross-cultural understanding, the event is fun, engaging and interactive. It features an array of delicious hors d'oeuvres, libations, and student performances. You will get the opportunity to meet student artists, purchase their art and observe as original prints are made to order right in front of you! Programming to include:- youth dance & poetry performances- honoring of our annual Student Leadership Awardees- granting of the annual Peace Maker Award- interactive art making stations- youth art galleries- drinks & light fare 2019 Peacemaker Award Honoree - Christian Scott aTunde Adjuah. Heralded by NPR as ushering in "a new era of jazz," Adjuah is an artist on a mission to change the world through music. He explains: "It is time we created a sound that dispels singular narratives of entire peoples and look to finally represent the wealth of narratives found throughout the American experiences. An experiences that shows all forms of expression in sound are valid, as all people are." Changing Worlds honors Christian Scott aTunde Adjuah with the Peacemaker Award for his profound impact on young artists and musicians. Last year, he gifted a Changing Worlds youth with his own trumpet and inspired him to pursue his dreams of being a musician. It is sure to be an evening of events that will Change Your World!
