EASTER BUNNY PHOTO EXPERIENCE COMING SOON TO DELIGHT FAMILIES AT ORLAND SQUARE

Simon®, a global leader in the ownership of premier shopping, dining, entertainment, and mixed-use destinations, will host its annual Easter celebration festivities at Orland Square. Offering families an opportunity to participate in traditional and unique seasonal events, the Bunny Photo Experience begins this upcoming Friday, March 8 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and runs through Saturday, April 20 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. The new photography set, which for the first time in nearly 25 years features a cushioned porch swing with accent lights and flowered trees creating an outdoor cottage scene that families will find esthetically appealing and welcoming, is located in the lower level JCPenney wing. Kids can visit with the Bunny to take home a treasured snapshot of the fun occasion.

“We love hosting family-friendly events, and we always look forward to seeing children have fun with the Bunny at Easter,” said Cathy Mein, director of marketing and business development at Orland Square.

Orland Square also provides an opportunity for people with all spectrums of special needs and their families to enjoy this time-honored holiday tradition through a sensory-friendly Caring Bunny event in association with Autism Speaks. Caring Bunny will occur on Sunday, April 7 from 8:30 to 10 a.m. prior to the mall opening, while the Bunny Photo Experience will collect donations for Autism Speaks during the duration of the season.

The set, located in the JCPenney Wing of the Lower Level, will take many steps to reduce sensory triggers, creating a more comforting environment for children’s cherished visit with the Bunny. The subdued environment will implement the following:

      • Turning off in-mall music, stopping escalators located near the photo set, dimming the lights and shutting down fountains for the duration of the event.
      • Eliminating queue lines and using a numbering system whereby guests approach the set when their number is called.
      • Special activities geared toward the needs of guests during the ‘wait’ period.
Guests can register in advance at simon.com/caringbunny.

Additionally, the popular Pet Photo Night returns to the Easter Bunny Photo Experience at Orland Square this year. Many pet owners view their pet as an integral member of the family and are just as committed in caring for their pets as their human family members. Pet Photo nights are hosted after regular mall closing and the set gets an extensive cleaning following the event to remove any potential risk to allergy sufferers. Pet Photo Night at Orland Square will be on Sunday, March 31 from 6 to 8 p.m.

Save time and avoid the line with the Bunny’s FastPass! Now you can reserve your magical moment with the Bunny online at www.simonbunny.com.

      About Autism
Autism, or autism spectrum disorder, refers to a broad range of conditions characterized by challenges with social skills, repetitive behaviors, speech and nonverbal communication. We now know that there is not one autism but many subtypes, and each person with autism can have unique strengths and challenges. A combination of genetic and environmental factors influence the development of autism, and autism often is accompanied by medical issues such as GI disorders, seizures and sleep disturbances. Autism affects an estimated 1 in 59 children.

      About Autism Speaks
Autism Speaks is dedicated to promoting solutions, across the spectrum and throughout the life span, for the needs of individuals with autism and their families. We do this through advocacy and support; increasing understanding and acceptance of people with autism spectrum disorder; and advancing research into causes and better interventions for autism spectrum disorder and related conditions.
